Grade 3-4-- A book with a carefully developed plot and several twists, but one that is flawed by stiff writing that lacks visual imagery and fully realized characters. Benny, ten, is determined to have a new bike. His family can not afford to buy one, so he enters a writing contest about Potter's peanut butter that offers a bike as one of the prizes. Benny is a winner, but his prize turns out to be living-room furniture. With help from his family, however, he finally gets his bike.
