I know you can get pretty pricey with Tripods these days. Personally, I was looking for a solid piece of gear that would also fit in my Manfrotto messenger bag and not cost me a ton. This one fit my needs and I'm happy with it so far.

As far as some particulars:

It's a tight fit in my bag with the head on, so I detach it when traveling (easy way to shorten up the overall length a bit more). Not a big deal, I just have to attach it each time I want to use it (Which is not hard). I'm also getting used to the plate attachment that is now on the bottom of my 7D. This plate screws into the bottom of the camera and stays on so you have the ability to quickly attach or detach the camera from the head.

The ability to detach one of the legs for use of a monopod is a handy feature. It's pretty standard these days, but it's handy to have this option.

I also like the fact that it comes with both rubber feet and metal spikes for the bottom of the legs. Makes it good for indoor or outdoor use.

All aspects of this tripod and head are of good build quality and it seems that it will last for a while. Just as a test, I put my 7D on the tripod fitted with my 70-200mm and 430EX external flash. It seemed to handle the load just fine.

Overall I'm happy with the build quality, the price and the performance so far with this item. I'm not a pro, just like improving my chances for quality photos, and this piece of kit has helped. If you have similar needs such as I did, I recommend this setup. I know it's hard to purchase a tripod+head without putting your hands on it. However, this filled my basic needs and has worked out well.

The only thing missing from this tripod is the $100.00 extra you will pay for the carbon fiber version. :0)

With that said I do believe many photographers would say that paying $250.00 for an aluminum tripod is a bit over the top from a price perspective, but let me assure you that the quality, thought, and workmanship in this pod makes it obvious why this price point is not excessive.

The detachable leg that takes makes into a very nice, lightweight, but strong monopod is just one of the features that determined for me that this was a good fit for the type of photography that I pursue. The size is another. This little jewel folds up so compactly that it fits in even my smallest luggage. Just good engineering all around. The well built carry bag is also another nice touch! Benro has thought of just about everything!

The B0 head is the perfect match for it.

It's really a satisfying piece of equipment in every regard.

I'm very happy with the quality, sturdiness, and compactness of this tripod. The weight is a bit more than I would like, but didn't want to spend more than $200 for the carbon fiber model to save 0.5 lb. The price is a bit high, but there really is no alternative at this price range.

I took off one star because the quick-release plate must be attached to the camera with an allen wrench or screwdriver. This is very inconvenient.

I looked for the right tripod for quite a long time and finally found it with the Benro A1691T. I wanted a tripod that was; Solid, Ball Headed, great for Travel, and included a good case. This tripod met all those requirements and then some. Used it the first night for some light painting shots all with 10Sec and longer exposures and it is rock solid and easy to operate even in darkness. It folds and unfolds easily and is really compact when folded. The ball head is solid and the variable friction works great when I have 3 or 10 pounds on camera and lens on top. The carrying case is padded and has a good strap. The only bit of complication comes in when converting to a monopod. It takes a lot of turns to unscrew the leg and head and then to assemble them, but the result is a usable but a little on the short side monopod. Works great for my applications.

Very good design for Benro. This travel Angel tripod has every function I needed. It's not only a tripod, it can transform to a monopod. Also, the central poll can be took out and up-side-down install back, so your camera can took a pic in really low position. Twist lock is well designed, good hand feeling. The accessories include bolt fastener, extra metal foot substitution for sands surface or mud. As its description, this tripod is made by aluminum, much cheaper than its carbon fiber version. The weight is acceptable for me. It's really a good investment for beginer and hobbist. I am not professional photographer, this tripod meets all my needs for regular purpose. Take it when you go out for hiking, take pictures of wild birds, watch the sports game you like, take a family picture, BBQ party, you name it.

Pros:
Tripod/Monopod switchable
Relative low weight and low price. (Please note: relative means it has high performance/price ratio)
Ball head adjustment knob has fasten indicator numbers, which can let you know how fasten you already put on, avoid over fasten.

Cons:
The weigh of ball head can take is not enough if you have a DSLR camera with long zoom lens. But you can buy any compatible ball head meets your requirment. It's changeble.
