If thoughtful, reflective, Zen-like jazz compositions are to your liking, then Ben Rodefer's recent CD may well be your cup of tea. The six compositions offer a highly satisfying sampling of his work, and together with the McCoy Tyner and Victor Young pieces provide some juicy, introspective listening. Ben Rodefer's talents as an accomplished jazz guitarist are obvious from his work on these pieces and are shown to perfection in his compositions. It becomes understandable that he has received the recognition he has as one listens to these works, and this album will undoubtedly enhance his reputation all the more. The arrangements for this CD are superlative, and the ensemble playing of the sidemen that Rodefer selected for these recording sessions is simply terrific. These are consumate musicians who sound as if they've played together for years, with the result that the product produced is first-rate jazz. This is a CD I recommend without reservation. Check it out...

This guy is hot. Grooving, awesome record. I look forward to seeing what he does next. I think I've heard his brother playing some great jazz drums in the Village too.

I just got it last week, but have listened to it almost everyday since. It has a nice mix of straight ahead tunes, beautiful acoustic ballads and some more edgy stuff that really rocks. Definitely worth getting if you like jazz.
