Edwin Morgan, retired professor emeritus at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, was Glasgow's first poet laureate in 1999. Winner of the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry in 2000, and the 2001 Weidenfeld Translation Prize, he is the author of Collected Poems, Crossing the Border: Essays, Virtual and Other Realities, a translation into Scots of Rostand's Cyrano, and Collected Translations. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.
