cheap workmanship, barely any wood grain,

I'm very disappointed by these. First of all, they show very little of the nice grain that is the main point of getting olivewood. They could be some other wood for all one can tell. The grain in person (at least on the ones I received) is even fainter than it looks in the picture.
Secondly, the workmanship is shoddy. There is a hole on the end of the handle end from the lathing process which has not been smoothed away or even cleaned up very well, and the spoon end is made with 2 crude cuts. The saw lines from these cuts have not been completely sanded off, worse on some than others. If you zoom the image here and look really closely, you can just barely see them, and you can see (and feel) them better in person. There were also chips on the edges of mine. To sum it up: these are crap. |
