Shocked - Not for children,
By Concerned Mom "Concerned mom" (Arlington, VA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Berenstain Bear Scouts and the Ripoff Queen (Paperback)
My five year old received this book as a gift. We were reading it together at bedtime, only making it through the first chapter. I was appalled that such adult subject matter would be presented to children under the guise of "doing the right thing". Such topics as riverboat gambling, slots, blackjack, cheating, lying, and bribery all are discusses with in the first four pages. Scholastic should be ashamed to tarnish the Berenstain Bears' image and formerly good message with the publication of this book.
