Very nice story. It's a little wordy for the younger ones, but still interesting.

Brother and Sister are disappointed because they don't make the basketball team and the school play, respectively. (They're chosen to be the team and stage managers instead.) They feel very disappointed and unappreciated. Mama, with some clumsy "help" from Papa, lol, is able to explain that God loves us no matter what, and that Brother's and Sister's teachers must have a lot of confidence in the cubs, to have given them jobs that require so much responsibility. It's a story almost everyone can relate to, and it would encourage youngsters (or their parents) who are in similar situations.

I read a Berentain Bear book to my daugther every night. I purchased this one to put in her Easter basket last year. Although a little on the longer side, this book finishes up with a great message, as all books in this series do. I like this book because its entertaining and presents life's challenges on a level they can understand and relate to. My daughter continues to request this book at night time almost a year later!

This book has a great concept, but it is very long. My 4 year old can barely sit through all of it and she LOVES books. This is the only book we've come across that she has a hard time sitting still for. I would say it would be more appropriate for 5 or 6 year olds. But, great otherwise a great book!
