Santa Bear Has the Best Job in the World,
This review is from: The Berenstain Bears Meet Santa Bear (First Time Books) (Paperback)
"...Christmas is such a special time that very special, almost magical things can happen. And the most magical thing of all is Santa Bear: I'd say he has the best job in the whole world, because the joy of giving is what Christmas is all about." -- From the book
This lovely book by Stan and Jan Berenstain follows the Bear family as they navigate through the trappings of Christmas: making lists, feeling the tug of store-front windows loaded with toys, kids worrying if they've been good enough to merit Santa Bear's visit, the spirit of giving and more. I love that this book doesn't demonize wanting things (like The Berenstain Bears Get the Gimmies), and shows kids deciding to spend their own money to buy their parents special gifts from Christmas. One adorable scene in this book is when the kids encounter a bell ringing Santa outside the mall, standing in front of a pot that says "Help the Needy". Paper Bear explains "His job is to collect money to help the needy--birds who need seed, squirrels who didn't put enough aside for the winter". Especially good for Christmastime, The Berenstain Bears Meet Santa Bear is a heartwarming story with an uplifting message that children will no doubt enjoy.

The Bears Meet Santa,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Berenstain Bears Meet Santa Bear (First Time Books) (Paperback)
This books takes place right after thanksgiving, and the Bear family go shopping together to the Bear Country Mall. Papa and Mama bear are a little worried about how the cubs will react to all the excitement about christmas.Papa tries to assure Mama that they are good and calm little cubs, but at that moment they are in awe and jumping for joy about the big new toy store. They see all kinds of toys they want. As they are walking thru the mall they see a sign about Santa Bear coming soon. This got the little cubs all fired up and excited. As the season rolled on the excitement grew bigger and bigger. The cubs had made their christmas lists to give to Santa, and Sister Bear got a little to carried away. She made a list a mile long with tons of toys.Brother Bear calmly explained to her the true meaning of christmas, so she shortened her list up to a few things, and learned the true meaning of christmas. The cubs even bought their parents some nice gifts. this book is one of my personal favorites and I recommend that people of all ages read this wonderful book.

This book is about how the cubs start wanting their presents for Christmas. Brother bear wants just a couple of things and makes a small Christmas list, while sister bear makes a really long one. Sister gets thiknking and she realizes she's being greedy.I reccomend this book to any child who is havinbg a want problem. The point of this story is don't be greedy. This is for children 5-8 yrs. of age.

The Berenstain Bears Meet Santa Bear,

I gave this book four stars because it is a great book for children dealing with questions about Santa Claus. Papa Bear answers all these questions with a simple answer, "Christmas is such a special time of year that very special, almost magical things can happen. And the most magical thing of all is Santa Bear."

Sister meets Santa Bear.,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Berenstain Bears Meet Santa Bear (First Time Books) (Paperback)
Two days after Thanksgiving, Christmas comes to Bear Country. In the first few pages, the parents discuss about the cubs' behaivor. The cubs notice the toys they see advertised during Disney's One Saturday Morning. Sister starts on her Christmas List, but Brother tells her all about Santa Bear (who I call Santa Claus). 'Course, Bro didn't tell Sis about the coal Santa gives bad kids. After Santa recieves the lists, the cubs go to buy presents for their parents. Later on, Sister finds out the meaning of Christmas: "It's not the giving of the recieving. It's the loving."

This is a sweet little story that starts with the young ones wanting LOTS for Christmas, and ends with a good lesson aboout giving. I bought this for my 4 year old grandson, and he loves it. With the usual lovely artwork, it;s a good one to get into the mood for Christmas.
