5.0 out of 5 stars Valuable lesson about wishing, August 9, 2006
By
Once again the Berenstains are very clear about the lesson of wishing. When Sister Bear wishes for a teddy bear, she is very happy to have her wish come true. However, when she gets greedy with her wishes, Brother Bear reminds her of the magic of wishing stars, and the dangers of being greedy. I loved this book! Highly recommended for all ages!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent series for early readers, August 11, 2010
The Berenstain Bears series of books in the An I Can Read Book series are engaging, vividly illustrated (a visual treat for children), and the stories have wide appeal for children, an important factor in motivating children to read. Although this book is labeled as a Level 1 reader, I would categorize it more as a Level 2 reader, especially when compared to other early readers, such as the Step Into Reading series of books. There is some higher level vocabulary in here which is a step above the Level One readers in other series. For example, in this title, some of the words used are dreamed, rhyme, supposed, and the sentences are longer as well.

I think this series of early readers is value for money because the story contained in each book is longer than the average early reader, and the quality of writing is superior. There are illustrations on each page and children, especially visual learners such as my five-and-a-half year old daughter will love reading and perusing the pictures. Highly recommended!

What can anyone say about the Berenstain Bears that has not already been said. They are always a joy. As a former pre-school teacher I know how the children enjoy the books, now I am buying the books for my grandchildren so that they too may enjoy the mis-adventures.
