Good beginner's gun,
By
This review is from: Soft Air Beretta 92 FS Spring Powered Pistol, Black (Sports)
This is a nice, easy-to-use gun for someone who's just getting started in the AirSoft world, or a good sidearm for someone more advanced.
Pros: 1) Good power. Powerful enough to give you some distance on the shot, but not strong enough to badly hurt someone (just keep it away from the eyes). 2) Good accuracy, which is to say that the BB will travel in a straight line after it leaves the barrel 3) Comfortable grip that feels natural as you manipulate the safety and clip release. 4) The safety cannot be accidentally activated by gravity, which I found was a problem in at least one of the Sig Sauer models. 5) Comfortable weight and length, fits most holsters. 6) Sleek-looking and respectable. Cons: 1) Unique magazine shape. Clips from other guns won't necessarily fit in this gun, and neither will this gun's clips fit in other guns. 2) May start to jam or double-feed after extended use. You just have to be careful to make sure the slide goes all the way forward after cocking. I do this by placing my thumb on the breech and giving it a quick push before each shot (Note: You should not do that with a real gun). 3) While each BB may travel in a straight line, it may not always go in the direction you intended. If you were to anchor the gun and fire a bunch of shots at a target without moving the gun, you would probably end up with a circular fire pattern about two inches across at 10-15 feet of distance. But there's no annoying tendency for the BB to spin out after 20 feet or zig-zag wildly. Bottom Line: Good gun. If you can get it for under 20 dollars, go for it. Even if you can't, it's better than a lot of small handgun models. Don't shoot anyone in the face, and be sure to keep the slide oiled to avoid jamming.

Beretta 92 fs,

I didn't buy this gun from amazon. I bought it at dicks sporting goods. It cost ten dollars less here, so i wish i had checked that before I bought it. Not only is this a good deal on this gun, the gun performs well. It's a very good price for a spring powered handgun that shoots 307 fps. The gun also shoots straight. The bullet doesn't curve after it leaves the gun as some of my other air soft guns do. The clip only holds 12 bb's though so it would be beneficial to have quickloading bb canister. I would recommend this gun for anyone.

Great value for those just getting into Airsoft,
This review is from: Soft Air Beretta 92 FS Spring Powered Pistol, Black (Sports)
This is a very good and powerful spring pistol for the money. The plastic is fairly durable and the gun is surprisingly weighty. It's difficult to find a spring pistol that will fire over 300 FPS for this price. The only downside is that the clip only holds 12 shots. If you plan on using it in any kind of airsoft war, you'll need at least 2 more mags. The gun is also fairly accurate. There is a white dot on the front site, making target acquisition a bit easier, although a 3 dot site would have been more ideal. The gun also can be taken apart very easily for cleaning and lubrication.
Overall, it is a very decent gun for the price. It's great for those looking for a nice powerful springer and don't want to invest into an expensive gas gun quite yet.

Excellent sidearm, all round good.,
This review is from: Soft Air Beretta 92 FS Spring Powered Pistol, Black (Sports)
I have had the clear version of this gunfor 3 years, which was bought as a gift, but I assure you, it is the same gun.
The gun has a nice feel to it. The plastic is strong, and feels sturdy and strong, unlike the cheaper guns which flex and feel like they're about to crack. It has a good heft to it, which I like because it has a steadying effect on the gun. The gun is pretty accurate, better than a lot of pistols, but the sights are somewhat lacking. Unlike my old sidearm, they feel somewhat cramped, and there's only a simple red spec on the front sight. Regardless, they do their job. the gun is useful up to about 15 yards, where after its accuracy and FPS drop considerable. The fps is good, and it leaves a pretty bad welt for 30 feet. The magazine holds 12 bbs, which is acceptable for a sidearm, and is very easy to load. just pour the bbs in, and you're set. Overall I'd say this is a great sidearm for a beginning player, or a backyard airsofter like myself. If you treat it well, it will be a good gun for years to come.

Great for beginners,

To start off, I got this airsoft gun via Amazon with their two day-guarantee, and the delivery service actually delivered on Thanksgiving since it was late, so just a note for reliabilty.
Anyways, the gun itself is made out of ABS plastic with a good weight to it, some of the inner mechanisms are metal, but most are made of plastic, including the trigger, but I wouldn't worry too much about durability, its pretty sturdy regardless. Since its licensed by Beretta, it has the Beretta icon on the grip. The gun is made by KWC, distributed by Palco Sports by the way. performance wise, this gun uses a BAXS system (different type of hop-up), which seems to work quite well. Its accurate and pretty strong. Although the bbs fly straight, they don't necessarily always go where you point it (it may be my aiming skills). The safety on this gun is different than other safety triggers on other guns, its more of a sliding switch, located above the trigger on the right, and from what I can say, it works very well. Pros: - good in general - good accuracy and power - secure safety - solid build - relatively cheap for a beginner Cons: - magazine quality could be better (it works though) - the safety on the real gun is just for decoration on this gun - it isn't double action - after heavy use, you may have small but fixable problems come up Most of the problems on this gun are minor and can be easily fixed by your own hands, you may need to use an eyeglass screw driver for the magazine if the magazine spring gets squished to much (you can stretch the spring a little if this happens, but be careful). note: comes with a box of .20g bbs

Accurate, very real looking, and has good range. For how cheap it is, it's a must have.

This is a great gun for the price. It is a little heavy but makes up for it. It has a very easy and smooth cock back. It holds 12 rounds and has good accuracy and is 300 fps not 307. But i recommend this gun.

UHC M9 pistol to me is a better choice,

I have both, this one the 92FS which I just brought and the UHC M9. Both are Beretta look-a-likes but that's where it ends. The 92FS is licensed by Beretta so the markings on the handguards looks correct - but not on the slide which is in bold white lettering. There's no sequential serial number anywhere on the 92FS pistol even though the box says there is. On the UHC M9 the slide and frame both have matching serial numbers. Mag capacity is a dismal 12 on the 92FS, so better buy extra mags. The UHC M9 mag looks and feels real and has a capacity of 22. The 92FS seems to pack more punch than the UHC M9, and both are accurate. But the UHC M9 has an open bolt and weighs more so it sits nicey in your hand. Both guns are made in Taiwan, the 92FS is made by KWC. Physically, I prefer the UHC M9s military style over the 92FS. And here's the real kicker: price wise the UHC M9 is about $[...] bucks cheaper.

Good buy,

First, a more in-depth product description:
Beretta Licensed, made by KWC in Taiwan, as indicated below the slide. Constructed nearly entirely of good quality ABS plastic. The fake exterior barrel is metal, however. The hammer moves, but is just for show and has no real function beyond aesthetics. It is heavy for a plastic gun, but much lighter than a metal gun would be; it has metal weights in the magazine and the grip which balance out the metal barrel. Also the BAX system does not allow for distance adjustment on this gun. The magazine holds twelve, and allows for disassembly, such as for spring replacement. Not the best design, but effective nonetheless. Pros: overall design fair accuracy good carry weight decent velocity simplicity price Cons: not metal magazine compatibility and design(some double feeds) Overall a good buy, for a beginner like myself or a casual airsofter, or for an experienced player who wants a cheap backup. |
