I starting eating Brazil nuts daily about 3 years ago after reading the Mayo Clinic thought they might be helpful for middle aged women with arthritis in their knees. Brazil nuts are loaded with selenium, magnesium, & copper, making them a very healthy food. My knees have improved, but don't know if the Brazil nuts had anything to do with it. I'd never eaten them before, but have come to really like them. I've tried several brands from different websites, but have found these to be the best. I also like the fact that Amazon offers free shipping on orders over $25. Other websites can charge almost as much for postage as for the nuts.

Bergin's nuts are the best. i have never had fresher & tastier nuts. and I eat alot of nuts being a vegan. I even have my non-vegan friends eating a handfull everyday. "they" say that if you have a diet that includes nuts and seeds you will live years longer and much healthier.

When we received our first shipment of Bergin Brazil Nuts in January, we were thrilled with the taste and freshness. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same about the order received in April. These are quite rancid and ugly tasting. We decided to give this product a 2 star rating rather than 1 because the first batch was so very tasty and there is always the chance that we might be lucky again, if we were willing to take the chance, although that is unlikely at this point.

These seem to be fresh and are very delicious. I usually eat 4 or five in the evenings, I tried to roast some in the Microwave, that didn't work very well at all.

      Where do these nuts grow? Brazil? USA?
      Brazil nut trees are found in the Amazon rain forest areas of South America where they grow to 160 feet tall. Boliva is the leading exporter providing about 50%, Brazil 40%, & Peru 10% according to recent info.

      Not sure if they are pasteurized. The label indicates merely "raw nuts." Ingredients say: Raw Brazil Nuts (Bolivia, Peru). Processed on shared equipment with peanuts, tree nuts, soy, milk, egg or wheat products."... Read more
