I starting eating Brazil nuts daily about 3 years ago after reading the Mayo Clinic thought they might be helpful for middle aged women with arthritis in their knees. Brazil nuts are loaded with selenium, magnesium, & copper, making them a very healthy food. My knees have improved, but don't know if the Brazil nuts had anything to do with it. I'd never eaten them before, but have come to really like them. I've tried several brands from different websites, but have found these to be the best. I also like the fact that Amazon offers free shipping on orders over $25. Other websites can charge almost as much for postage as for the nuts.

Bergin's nuts are the best. i have never had fresher & tastier nuts. and I eat alot of nuts being a vegan. I even have my non-vegan friends eating a handfull everyday. "they" say that if you have a diet that includes nuts and seeds you will live years longer and much healthier.

When we received our first shipment of Bergin Brazil Nuts in January, we were thrilled with the taste and freshness. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same about the order received in April. These are quite rancid and ugly tasting. We decided to give this product a 2 star rating rather than 1 because the first batch was so very tasty and there is always the chance that we might be lucky again, if we were willing to take the chance, although that is unlikely at this point.

I have ordered these Bergin Nut Company Brazil Nuts for many months and have been very pleased with my orders. I even ordered them as gifts. This past week, I ordered my usual 16 oz - double pack and was SO disappointed. The nuts were soft. They did not look the same. Rather than the large, crisp nuts with tons of flavor, these nuts were smaller, had dark skins on all nuts, and tasted soft and almost moist. I could not return them but if I could have, I would have. I'm afraid I will not order any more. I'm so disappointed as I ordered them regularly.

I ordered these for my wife for Valentines Day and she loved them. We have a hard time finding just Brazil Nuts in a package and if you do find them, they are normally way to expensive. These were great tasting Brazil Nuts at a reasonable price. They shipped quickly and were very fresh when we opened them.

I would definitely order these again!!!!!

I had not had Brazil Nuts before i ordered these. I am a vegan and have read the many benefits of Brazil nuts so i thought i would get them a try. I have a home-made mix of different raw nuts and dried fruit that i add to my cream of wheat. These nuts have made a great addition to my breakfast. I find the price great, i order something else from amazon with it and it ships free. You really can not beat that. I have also bought their cashews and almonds. I recommend this company to anyone.

My mom is 85 and she loves Brazil nuts. These are excellent tasting and a good price. Sometimes I will dip in chocolate and make her a gift basket (did I mention she is also a chocoholic?). Will definitely purchase again.

Well, this wasn't a nice experience.

I was browsing for organic nuts and stumbled across these.

In the end, I ended up ordering them because they were some of the cheapest and largest amount of nuts I had found.

When I finally received them, it turns out they were not organic. I had to do a doubletake and immediately checked my order history. It's true, they really weren't organic.

Unfortunately, this is yet another one of Amazon's listing errors. I apparently did not notice this prior to ordering either; think my brain read 'ounce' as 'organic'. I was searching for around 35 minutes prior to ordering, so that no doubt had something to do with it.

I figured what the hell; they were already delivered, I really wanted nuts, and because nuts are encased in shells (and thus protected from things like pesticides.. for the most part), I decided I'd eat them.

Oh boy..

They are stale. Both packages, stale.

The best by date says January 26th 2014. (mfg code 171260) Either they were not kept in proper storing conditions at Amazon's warehouse, or the best by date is a farce. Or, even worse, they are stored poorly at Bergin's facilities.

Even worse is the fact that on average about 1 nut out of 3 either tastes rotten, musty or otherwise has a foul taste to it, causing me to immediately spit it out, sometimes being forced to rinse my mouth out as well. This is the worst part about it, as I could deal with them being stale, but constantly being hit with a foul taste so often is not acceptable in any way.

I guess this is part of the reason I buy organic. Quality control with almost all non-organic (hell, even some big organic) companies is absolutely terrible.
