The KDF shower filter removes up to 95% of chlorine. The KDF 55 granules also remove or reduce hydrogen sulfide, microorganisms, scale and water-soluble heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and iron. KDF process media also kill bacteria and inhibit the growth of bacteria, algae, and fungi. As an added benefit, KDF media reduce lime scale, mold, and fungi in your shower. The dual media KDF Shower Filter will typically last 10,000 gallons or one year whichever comes first. The shower filter contains KDF 55 granules, which are most effective in removing or reducing chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, microorganisms, scale and water-soluble heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and iron. KDF process media also kill bacteria and inhibit the growth of bacteria, algae, and fungi. As an added benefit, KDF media reduce lime scale, mold, and fungi in your shower. KDF process media are completely safe so the process is not toxic and does not cause any adverse side effects. Effective for both hot and cold water.

I have the berkey drinking water filter and wanted to try the shower filter. I am very happy with it. After my shower I could brush through my hair without any detangler and when it dried my hair was soft and not as corse like it usually is. My sister also has the shower filter and loves it. It helped with her hair and the kids'. When the kids take a shower after swimming it rinses all the chlorine out and she can brush throught their hair easy as of before she could not. She also said she shower doors are always clean and clear with no lime/ water spots. All together- its great!

This filter is great! No question about it! High water pressure & thoroughly cleaned. No more dry skin or hair. I was a bit concerned about the unmarked filter & shower head. I emailed the vender and they indeed admitted it is a sprite brand. Which means berkey simply uses sprite filters (common practice in any business). My point...? Sprite filters are cheaper :(

Great piece! Quality constructed product.

Covers a wide range of filtration and eliminates mold and fungus!
The part where the silver band is around the center of the filter leaks slightly, but this may be due to installation. (Unfortunately I wasn't there when it was installed so I can't say for sure...lol)

It's a great feeling to know that I'm not breathing in Chlorine vapors anymore when I shower (nor absorbing the toxic chlorine through my skin), and my hair is super shiny and soft since I started using it.

It has a perfectly even flow of water and I find it very appealing to not have to frequently change or clean/sanitize my shower curtain :)


Tall folk: Keep in mind this brings the traditional shower head down a couple of inches.
