I thought the title and description were a bit misleading. I bought the book for my son who is going off to college to study saxophone. He is a very good player and is working on starting up bands. This book sounded like just the thing for him, but it is NOT. What it is, is an excellent book for someone just picking up the saxophone. Hmm, maybe I'll start playing...

I have been teaching music for fifteen years. I gave my students each a different book according to their instrument. Like keyboard, guitar, drum set, bass, alto sax and baritone sax, vibraphone, tenor sax and soprano sax. The books are very clear and when I student has a question I don't have to walk over to his/her music stand. I can turn to the page in my own book. I plan on continuing to use these books because they have helped my class tremendously. I recommend the Teacher's Guide and all of the other books to teachers and/ or musicians who are trying to get their band established.
