Not for the advanced player!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Berklee Practice Method: Drum Set (Paperback)
Just a quick note about this book: It it NOT for the advanced player, but rather the basic player that has a basic grasp on how to read music. The book is clear and takes you through basic concepts step-by-step in order to accompany the charts in the book and the tracks on the enclosed CD. If you already have experience reading in a band situation, this book will not help you. It seems to be designed more for the "drums as a second instrument" crowd.

Not a good starter drum book,

This review is from: Berklee Practice Method: Drum Set (Paperback)
I would have to agree with the previous review, in that, this book is for a person taking drums as a "second instrument" or someone who wants a quick "cheat sheet" approach to drums. Already in my experience, any way to get around good old fashioned practice is just a waste of time. I personally wouldn't recommend this book, but rather Gary Chester's book "The New Breed" as it starts from the very basics and gives you something challenging to work with from beginners to experts, which is where this book lacks. Not recommended, sorry
