THIS IS AN AWESOME ROD. IT TAKES ABOUT A YEAR TO "BREAK IT IN". WHEN YOU DO FISH WITH IT FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND IT'S BROKE IN, THE ROD BECOMES VERY SENSITIVE. THE MODEL I OWN (AND I OWN 5 OF THE SAME ROD) IS THE ULTRA-LIGHT 5 FOOT ONE PIECE. DON'T BUY IT FROM AMAZON, BECAUSE YOU WILL RECEIVE IT BROKEN. SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND PURCHASE IT FROM EITHER REDS GEAR OR FISH USA. AMAZON SHIPS RODS IN A HUGE BOX AND THEN UPS BREAKS IT BY BENDING IT. IF YOU BUY IT FROM REDS GEAR OR FISH USA, THEY SHIP RODS INSIDE A ROCK HARD CARDBOARD TUBE AND THE MOST YOU'LL PAY EXTRA IS $1 MORE OVER AMAZON'S "FREE SUPER SAVER SHIPPING". BETTER TAKE MY ADVICE, CAUSE YOU'LL END UP SENDING 3 FISHING RODS BACK BEFORE YOU FIGURE THAT OUT TOO.

Broken Cherrywood Rods,

Berkley Cherrywood Rods are great rods for the money. However, I would not recommended buying them from Amazon, of the six rods they sent me four were broken in shipment. Amazon's packaging was substandard for shipping rods, they should have used more ridged packaging with packing material to protect the rod.
