4.0 out of 5 stars Worth The Money
These Berkley Gulp Alive minnows look and feel like the real thing. It's a bait that can be fished different ways and I have caught different species of fish like crappie, largemouth, and small-mouth. I know they seem a little pricey, but they are worth the money.

1.0 out of 5 stars just didn't work out for me
I wanted them to work well, I think I gave them a fair shake, but the packaging in the liquid actually was the biggest downfall for me - that makes packing them hard in the limited space of my canoe. They also do leave a residue on your hands or anything the liquid spills on, so you gotta be careful opening the jar.

I used them on a float and on a jighead,...

I used them on a float and on a jighead, can't say I noticed anything even close to livebait-type reactions...and probably in line with my other soft plastics that pack easier and store better (for me).

I also tried to use them the following weekend and they turned "bad" in my garage - really stinky and slimy, but maybe that doesn't hinder their fish-catching ability, I just didn't want to take them the following week when I opened that container. I just tossed them.

Surely there are plenty of better boat set-ups and ways to use them, they just didn't work for me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Berkley GULP! ruined my equipment, October 20, 2011

DO NOT buy Berkley GULP! The packages leaked out all over the inside of my tackle bags & boxes, contaminating everything inside and out! So to combat the problem I purchased what I thought was a solution - The Plano Liqua-Bait Locker System. Obviously, the "locker" wasn't going to keep the packages from leaking, but at least I thought it would contain it. The only thing that did was to create another problem - The baits in all the packages became moldy from the humidity created inside the locker from all the spillage and are now unusable! You would think with the outrageous price Berkley charges for these things that they could figure out a better way to keep them from leaking and going bad so soon! I contacted Berkley directly about this issue and all they did was ignore my request for some kind of reimbursement for the damaged goods. Unless you plan on using the baits all in a single day, DO NOT waste your money!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work, August 22, 2011
This review is from: Berkley Gulp! Alive! Minnow Bucket (Sports)
Ok so my husband bought this product because everything online says how wonderfuly they are. We haven't caught a single fish from them.It was an expensive product that is not worth the 20 bucks we paid for it. I also spoke with a few other people about this and they have pretty much the same story as I do. Great reviews and thinking it is a great product then being dissapointed in the end. I was told that if I can tell the diffrence between plastic food and real food then fish can to because its how they survive. Don't throw your money away on this because 20 bucks can by you a whole bucketload of live minnows.

5.0 out of 5 stars top water killer, July 15, 2011

Great product! I thread a 1/0 worm hook through the body and out the top.... no weight. Toss it out and either skip it on the surface or jerk it just below. The bass in NJ can't look the other way! Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars We Caught Fish, August 1, 2010
This review is from: Berkley Gulp! Alive! Minnow Bucket (Sports)
First time pier fishing. We had one spinning rod and two spincast rods. The three of us caught seven or eight fish within two hours using the Gulp Alive Minnows. (May have caught one on Gulp Alive Shrimp.) It was easy and convenient. Crabs nibbled some, but, pleased with our fishing experience. We caught flying fish, flounder, and sea bass.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than anthing ever used before, June 14, 2008
My whole family loves to fish and being that we lives by several lakes, fishing has been an enjoyment for us all.
My son heard about using Gulp for bait and decided to purchase them.
They work great and if the fish don't eat them, they can be used over and over, saving quite a bit of money as you do not have to buy live bait.
We have caught several fish and will be using Gulp bait from now on.

2.0 out of 5 stars Big Mess for NO Fish, October 11, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Berkley Gulp! Alive! Minnow Bucket (Sports)
Tried this out for 2 days with all sorts of rigging. Hook only, hook and split shot, Jig, etc. Got a few hits but could not set the hook. Bait seemed to be spit out before I could set the hook. Very tough material makes having an embedded hook almost impossible to set the hook. Leaving the hook exposed or rigging on a jig as a grub might be I still had strikes I could not turn into catches. Switched to a plastic worm or a soft plastic grub and then strikes would turn into catches. The odor and mess of the liquid fish attractant are too messy to deal with. My 'bucket' tipped in the car (eecch) so I switched to a sealed container and still managed to leak out all over the back of the car. The mess was disgusting. I finally gave up and tossed it all out. I would not recommend this product unless you have extreme patience and have a way to keep from spilling the liquid all over. Good luck if you try it.
