The Berkley Hotwire Line Cutter was purchased for use in crafts. I am a beadweaver and had heard that the Hotwire cutter made cutting the Fishing line I bead with much easier. It does. Using the Hotwire cutter I am able to cut the thread/line much closer to the beads that make up the piece I am working on. The ability to cut the line so close to the beads means that the cut end of the thread will retract into the beaded piece and is much less likely to be noticeable. I don't know how I beaded without it. The Hotwire cutter beats using scissors to cut the beading line by a mile. There is a clear guard around the end of the cutter that makes burning one's self less likely. However, I would still be cautious when using any product that heats up, as the Hotwire cutter most definitely does. A wrist strap is included. I do not use the strap to tether my Hotwire cutter to my wrist though. I use it to tether the cutter to something else nearby, so that it is available when I need it. All in all, I would say that the Berkley Hotwire Line cutter is most definitely a winner.

So far so good with this product. Have used it 3 separate times and it's awesome. Just whip it out of your pocket and push the button up, it instantly singes any tag line. I have not used it yet to mend torn rubber jigs. Remember to go to berkley-fishing.com to get your 5 dollar rebate....

Purchased the Berkley Hotwire Line Cutter for my husband's birthday. It has not worked since we took it out of the package. Seller did not accept returns, so we have a $30 piece of junk in the drawer.
