I was looking for a bargain priced fishing line, and this fit the bill. I am not using it for fishing but am putting it in a camping/survival preparedness kit, which it seems to work great for.

Aside from braided line, this is my favorite line. I really like it on spinning reels because it doesn't have a lot of memory like some cheap mono does. It has excellent knot strength if you use a palomar or even an improved clinch, but it doesn't have the abrasion resistance that some other mono line does. This is a great line unless you are fishing a very snaggy area. Casts great... For fishing in normal conditions, I highly recommend this mono. Given the choice between the knot strength and castability of this line and abrasion resistant line, I would choose this because most "super tough" abrasion resistant line has a lot of memory and doesn't cast very well. If using this mono, just have to up-size a little bit if you are going to be fishing around snags.
