Book Description

October 1, 2007
The evocative images found in this book document the ever-changing face of East Berlin and its people. The title of the book is photographer Nicholas Sinclair’s adaptation of the musical term tritone, the musical intervention that creates a sense of tension and suspense—a mood that is evident in the color combinations of these haunting images. Split into six different themes the photographs form a fascinating record of East Berlin’s vibrant, passionate, and scarred landscape.

4.0 out of 5 stars Photography like music, August 9, 2009
This review is from: Berlin: Imagining the Tri Chord (Hardcover)
I am thrilled by the photographs in this book. They are paintings. But they are also music. Still they are just walls in a city, a certain city; Berlin. And there is a girl. She is the human essence of the pictures inside. It is like she is just sliding out of the walls. Soon she will disapperar again, dissolve like a Fata morgana. Auf wiedersehen.
