4.0 out of 5 stars A well-written and lively example of the genre, January 1, 2010
This review is from: The Berlin Warning (Paperback)
This is a great book if you are a fan of the genre. The premise is the Nazi Foreign Office tries to send a warning to Washington about the impending attack on Pearl Harbor in order to avoid a war with the US and see it locked in a war with Japan. The hero (who is placed in the odd dilemma of either helping the Nazis or betraying US forces in Hawaii) must work his way across Europe and back to America fighting the Nazi SS (who are against the initiative) and the British (who want the US at war with Germany).

If you like this kind of book (the Eye of the Needle, etc) this is a really good one in that its premise is very straightforward. It is much more realistic than the ridiculous, often complex and usually implausible conspiracies upon which these books are usually built. It also avoids nutty encounters with historical figures (another pet peeve of mine).

The action is lively, starts out quick, and maintains a constant pace throughout the book. I also found it refreshing that it did not move too far into unrealistic feats of daring-do.

I would get this book on Kindle if I could. You will not be disappointed.
