Beginners now have a completely revised, updated new Spanish course which blends easy lessons on cds (revolving around a modern Spanish used daily) with a companion workbook of exercises, learning units, and pronunciation tips. The pairing makes for an outstanding oversized collection which even includes an online audioscript for clear reference, a glossary, and more. The brand name Berlitz has long been synonymous with quality language learning, strengthened by updated and enhanced presentations such as this New Basic Spanish.

This was great review for me. I am in my second term of college Spanish. Some of the stuff is a little too easy though, but if you have never heard any Spanish this will be perfect for you. It goes slow, and it's easily understood.

This course is absolutely useless. They don't believe in teaching the language and how to converse. Their concept is that you learn a language by memorizing the same phrases and sentences over, and over, and over...and over. I finished the entire course, but still know only a few words here and there. I guess I will need to shell out more for Rosetta Stone.

I'm a true beginner. Gave up after 1st 10 minutes. First lesson was what you would learn in a week taking a class. My wife took 4 years of spanish in High School, she liked the book as a review.
