The idea behind these plastic lids is great, and for many applications will be fine--but be aware that for thin liquids, you may experience some leakage unless you really crank them down tightly. I bought them for an application where the jars contain a very thin liquid (pure alcohol) and need to be shaken daily. I have to be careful not to shake them too hard, or leave them inverted for even a moment, or they DO leak.

I love these caps. I store four half gallon jars of goat milk in the refrigerator and I use the plastic caps because I do not like using metal lids with the milk(metal corrodes when damp). I also use them when I make Kefir as no metal should come in contact with it or it becomes spoiled. They seal good and are great for storage or resealing other canning jars in the fridge. They wash up nicely and don't corrode. These caps CANNOT be used for initial canning with heat. Other than that, these are great. Mason Jar Caps - Plastic - Wide Mason Jar Caps - Plastic - Standard

These caps are just as good as name brand caps from Ball - as a matter of fact, I was unable to distinguish them from Ball caps when they were side-by-side! Excellent value.

This is a great product. I used to leave home canned pickles in the fridge so long that the cap would start to rust. These plastic caps are dirt cheap and solved my problem. A must for any home canner.

Fast service - nice product. Sometimes I want to use a ball jar, but do not want to waste the metal lids, this is a perfect solution.

I have just received my set of 8 caps today and they fit perfectly on the rooster drinking jars I received afew days ago, they will be perfect for my family's use ...we will use them to cover the drinking jars to and from places such as the house to the car to store etc...also for storage in fridge, while outside the covers will come in handy to keep bugs out of drinks and so many other uses.

Thanks so much for the quality product and shipping time was also excellent, I paid a bit more than I expected to in shipping cost but the product is coming from Canada and I am in the US so perfectly understandable and I highly recommend shopping this company.
