The cookware's interior and exterior nonstick surfaces ensure easy cleanup and the coating is guaranteed to never chip, crack, peel, blister, or come off. The nonstick surface allows the user to cook by adding little or no fat. Berndes does nonstick right--in 1975, DuPont and Berndes were the first companies to launch nonstick cookware in Europe. Users are not recommended to use metal utensils with Tradition cookware.
The cookware's rustic wooden handles are cool to the touch on the stovetop. In addition, the cookware may be used in the oven when wrapped with foil. Tradition cookware should not be washed in the dishwasher, as the handles may dry out from the heat.

This review is from: Berndes Tradition 13-Inch Skillet (Kitchen)
This product is top notch. Worth every penny. Just make sure you buy the glass lid also. This skillet get heavy use at my house. I've had mine for 10 years and it's as good as the day I first used it. You will of course have to take care of it. First, don't over heat it. Any nonstick coating will be destroyed by excessive heat. Always use non stick utensils and never use abrasive cleaners on it.. warm soapy water and a soft sponge it all you'll need because these clean up very easily. Never use a scouring pad, not even the plastic ones.... You don't need them and their use will shorten the life of your expensive skillet. Never put one of these in an automatic dishwasher. But you already kenw all that. The non-stick coating on the Berndes cookware is one of the best I've experienced. The skillet itself has a perfectly flat bottom becaused it's machined, not cast. This makes it great for use on ceramic cooktops since the entire bottom of the skillet will remain in contact with the cooktop. The wooden handle stays cool and theres a built in hanger opposite the handle. I use mine so often though, it stays on the stove. It's a little pricey but worth it
