I know kitchens -- I worked as a short-order cook for years.

This is a quality piece of cookware. Decent weight, well-machined. Berndes' non-stick coating is, for me, the standard against which I compare all others (and it's the only non-stick cookware I've ever been happy with). We've had the first pan for a year or three, and my wife still hasn't managed to destroy it. Yet.

For me, a HUGE plus (and what makes the purchase a no-brainer) is that there are no rivets inside the pan. (IMHO, rivets have no business on the inside of any pan -- makes cooking & clean-up more work.)

It's quite simply a flawless omelet pan. I've not used anything better at any price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent skillet, June 15, 2008
This review is from: Berndes SignoCast Classic 8-Inch Skillet (Kitchen)
I bought this to replace the same skillet I had purchased about 5 years ago--it was finally beginning to lose some of its non-stick covering. It is an excellent skillet, and I am very pleased that there is a matching glad lid available--something that I have found otherwise impossible to find for 8" non-stick skillets.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Good, Well-made Skillet, March 18, 2007

I am pleased with my Berdes 8-inch Skillet. It is a well-designed piece of cookware, with adequate thickness, a carefully machined bottom surface and a solidly attached handle. Unlike skillets made of thinner materials, this pan should never warp. And, of course, I like the non-stick cooking surface. This is a skillet which, given modest care, should give years of service.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Omelette Pan in the World, January 9, 2008

This 8"-inch skillet is the BEST for making omelettes that brown nicely. The skillet has the best non-stick finish I've ever cooked with, and the weight of the pan and balance of the handle make it easy to move around while making omelettes. The non-stick finish still looks brand new after a year of heavy use.

Berndes cookwear is the GREATEST. When my children get married, this is the cookwear I'll encourage them to buy.

Wonderful cookware. The BEST non-stick you can find anywhere. I've had my three pieces for at least seven years and they are still the same. Whenever I'm going to cook sauces, rice, I use these pans as I know the cleanup will be easy and the taste excellent. I found mine though at T.J. Maxx and/or Marshall's, but don't see them often and still looking for more. I was drawn to how smooth the pans are inside and out and haven't regretted a day using them. Made in Germany. Absolutely the best saucepans and omelet pans you can buy. Will see what Amazon's selection is and probably buy more.

This pan is very light and well made. I could tell the difference in quality between other pans immediately. The cast aluminum is much better quality than molded. It also distributes the heat evenly, and the non stick coating is smooth and durable. It makes absolutely perfect omelets! I am SO happy with this pan!

I Love it! This is the second product I have by Berndes. I will never buy any other brand of skillets. The food gets cooked evenly because of the flat bottom. Minimal, if any, oil or butter is necessary- I often use spray - food never sticks to the pan and cleaning the skillet is SO easy. My husband feels the same way about the Berndes SignoCast products.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice skillet, not ideal for omelets, February 22, 2011

Nice, heavy cast aluminum skillet with great non-stick properties. After a couple of months of light use, it is still very "slippery" when cooking. I mostly use it to make omelets and it works fine. My only disappointment is that the sides are a bit too steep (vertical) to make it an IDEAL omelet pan.

I always do sunny-on-the-side for my breakfast. I don't have to put any oil or butter on pre-heat and the "sunny" shapes perfect every time. After cooking, it takes only 1 minute to wash up and wipe with a paper towel. It saves me at least 10 minutes on every use and gives me the luxury to enjoy the time with the meal.

Really good cookware! My son bought me Berndes signocast first and it really is worth the extra cost.
Amazon had the best price and vendor shipped promptly.
