Seventies singer-songwriter sounds,
By
This review is from: Berry Vest of (Audio CD)
This compilation has 21 tracks, one more than The Best of Gilbert O'Sullivan collection. The Irish singer-songwriter had a string of hits in the UK in the early to mid 1970s, then faded with the exception of his late 70s stray hit What's In A Kiss. Most of the songs are mid tempo ballads with clever lyrical twists, although Get Down is an uptempo pop-rock number. The duet with Peggy Lee is charming and there's a previously unreleased track as well as different remixes of certain songs. This is the one for devoted Gilbert fans (if there are any such left).
