The Berrylicious Bake-Off: A Scratch and Sniff Story (Strawb,

This is actually the second time I have reviewed this book (original review was written several months ago and they never posted it). Feel the need to inform parents that this book has next to no smell on SOME pages and NONE at all on MOST! Nice story, nice pictures - DEFINATELY NOT what I call a scratch & sniff book - if the reason you are considering is for the smell... your child WILL BE dissappointed - hope they post my review THIS time - I wish I would have been able to read a review like this before wasting my money!

Silly me, I purchased this book twice because I thought I had a defective book the first time. It had no smell. I found another book that DID have fragrance in the store and bought it for my daughter because I thought she got cheated the first time. Within a month the smells had gone away. Now neither book smells. Bummer! We love Strawberry Shortcake and all her books, but you should be aware of this problem with the book.

I buy a lot of scratch and sniff books for my kids, they love them. Not only does this book have no smell, it smells like chemicals at best. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME or MONEY. This book is over priced and doesn't work. Just stay away!

No smell at all,
This review is from: The Berrylicious Bake-off: A Scratch-and-Sniff Story (Strawberry Shortcake) (Paperback)
I bought this book and thought that I needed to peel off the stickers or had a defective book. There is absolutely no smell! I recently read a scratch and sniff book from 1970, and the smells were wonderful. I wonder why we can't find books like that now?

Smell remains pretty good even after a 7 years itch!,

We got this book in 2003 for our daughter right when it came out from the publisher's presses in the children literature section at our local Barnes & Noble bookstore. The scratch-and-sniff spots' feature worked fine, though I was never really impressed by the scent's freshness of this or other scratch-and-sniff books in the first place... Now, as I am pulling The Berrylicious Bake-off out off my library, I am actually surprised to find the different fragrances with a faint, but still potent smell after more than seven years. Get this book for the well written and beautifully illustrated cooking story that it is. I always loved Strawberry Shortcake and her posse of cute friends, Angel Cake and her pet lamb Vanilla Icing, Huckleberry Pie, Ginger Snap, Orange Blossom, Apple Dumplin' and Honey Pie Pony. The Berrylicious Bake-off is no exception to quality: The drawings of the scenes are awesome, with luminous colors and gorgeous full pages composition! The millinery shown on these ladies' heads could almost compete with the British's Royal Ascot Day at the races...

It's a cute book, but I think it sucks that there's no smell in it. My little sister sold hers at a yard sale because of this. I would have given this a five if the book actually HAD a darn smell!!!
