A priest, you say?,
By Jane Myers Perrine (Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beside The Still Waters (Paperback)
I liked the beginning. The author has an interesting style. However, two problems put me off this book and--I have to admit--I didn't finish it.First, the beginning is almost completely narrative with very little dialogue. As I flip through, I see that there is dialogue later, but the beginning was tough cutting through. Secondly, I have a great deal of trouble with the sexual promiscuity of this priest. I have no problem with gays in ministry or unmarried ministers with sex lives (as long as they are monogamous) but to me, juggling two women is not an acceptable lifestyle for clergy. I did love the references to Austin very much. |
