As others have said, these are great clamps but the packaging is substandard. One of my clamps came with a broken clip. Instead of calling I sent an email to the company (to the address on the tag). Within a day I had a response. They were very nice and sent me two replacement clips along with a catalog in about week.

I had these clamps sent twice. the first time the box was ripped and had a broken plastic lip on the face. I returned them and got another set which also had a ripped boxed. luckily, the second time they arrived OK with just one of the plastic stands dislodged. These issues point heavily to shipping. Packaging is not ideal for shipping these heavy clamps. They need some type of foam at the ends to protect them (where the rips occur... perhaps the package is droped too many times). These clamps are steady and great otherwise.

I have used a lot of different wood clamps over the years and these are the best general purpose clamps I have come across. Anywhere you need two flat surfaces glued at 90 degree angles these clamps will perform well. They adjust easily and hold their 90 degre clamping angle (bar to clamp surface)creating even pressure (When edge gluing to create larger panels there is no warping at the glue joints). A nice feature is the flat end which allows the clamps to be used vertially with one end on the floor, such as clamping a top onto a box shape. I definately recommmend as a general purpose clamp for the workshop.

Bought 4 sets of these clamps along with 4 sets of the 50" and 4 of the 60". When they arrived I opened all but two boxes,2 complete sets were broken and the set of 60'ers had the end caps missing. Other reveiws are telling you that packing is the problem, I'm sorry but a clamp should not break during shipping. The latest reveiw was written in 09 I assumed they would of solved this problem by now. These clamps are just cheaply made. I opened one box and a clamp fell out on the floor and a plastic (not high impact) jaw shattered. I sent the whole shipment back and now it's costing me $150 in shipping and I still have no clamps. Save yourself the headache and buy the good ol' aluminum bar clamps.

ALot of companies claim to be superior or even good at that matter. The instant you hold one of these clamps you know you will never need to buy another. I use to have problems getting almost any project square or flat until i starting using Bessey clamps. These clamps have really made a difference in lowering setup and clamp time. This is one of the best bang for the buck i have come accross.

If you are deciding between these clamps and others (i.e. Jorgensen), pick these. I got both for Xmas and these are far superior to the others.

I ordered these clamps for my husband for Christmas this year. It was one of the 'big deal' presents I was purchasing and since he has produced some pretty fine items for me as a woodworker I figured I'd be a good wife and actually pay attention to detail about what he would like next in his 'wood shop'. So, I decided I'd order him, not the lower grade clamps he asked for, but actual BESSEY clamps...(see? I pay attention! I know that Norm Abrams uses Bessey clamps!)

So what's my complaint? Unlike everything else Amazon has shipped to me this holiday season, these clamps (keep in mind this was a Christmas gift) were in their ORIGINAL NORMAL PACKAGING on my front door step. No traditional brown box or bubble wrapped package discreetly covering the identity of the product inside...No! 2 weeks before Christmas, my husband gets to the door BEFORE I get home from work and now his 'big present' has been ruined this year. Thanks a lot Amazon!!!

So to be fair, he absolutely loves the clamps as I knew he would. I just wish Amazon would have let me know that this particuar item wouldn't be packaged past what you would see at a store, otherwise I would have sent this to my parents house or his! GRRRRR!!!!

The clamps are great. The blocks are very helpful. The packaging was terrible. Two of the clamps were broken on arrival and I had to arrange for replacement parts. Amazon customer service was excellent through that process, however. 5 stars if the packing was better.

The price for this product is very competitive. The quality is exceptional
and the return service because of damage in shipping more than meets my expectation for service.

I took a chance with the hope that Amazon had addressed the shipping issues mentioned in the previous reviews. That has not occurred. These are four heavy clamps with fairly delicate plastic pieces put into a cardboard box with no cushioning/packaging materials. The clamps made it through the trip, however, two of the plastic removable material protector pads, and one of the plastic removable end stops were broken. Like the review by Sleeping Tiger, Amazon was responsive in getting replacement parts shipped, but I needed to pay for these parts and in return received Amazon credit towards future purchases. If you order, be aware that it might take some time and a little bit more money to get what you want.
