These clamps are a huge upset for the money spent on them at the time they first came out. They have good clamping power, but these clamps are a pain unless you have them laying down on a table. The quick release setup they have is based off of a very fine change in pitch in regards to the clamp bar itself, and these either always slide open when you dont want them to, or wont open when you need them to. I find myself wasting plenty of time when trying to clamp cabinet boxes together, and fighting with the release and stop action of this clamp is not fun. Wish I could send them back, I hate them!!!!

I have ordered multiple packages of these clamps (I build furniture and cabinets on the side), and every one of them has arrived damaged, regardless of who ships them. Bessey ships them in an open box with no support materials (the problem is even worse on the larger versions of this clamp) and the heavy clamps crash around in the box and shatter plastic feet, head covers, etc. Amazon and others have been good about replacing the damaged ones, but at least one out of every package of four has been damaged in every shipment I've received, so if you are in a hurry for them because of a scheduling issue, buy them where you can pick them up in person to avoid the delays of exchange.

As for the clamps themselves, they are great performers. The only clamps I've used that surpase them are the Jorgensen brand of parallel clamp, which are a bit sturdier and the mechanism that allows the clamp to come apart to join two together into a longer clamp is a spring-loaded metal device that works much better than the fragile and cumbersome plastic stop on these clamps.
