The KRX2440 K Body REVO Fixed Jaw Parallel Clamp Kit (Includes: 2-24-inch, 2-40-inch K Body Clamps and 2-KBX20 Extenders) is the the new clamp range from BESSEY and offers some 30% more clamping force (7,000 N clamping force – some 2,000 N more than usual). The newly-designed pressure caps and work-piece contact elements also protect the work-piece exceptionally well. The Vario K Body REVO clamp enables the head to be adjusted at the press of a button. Three removable and glue-repellent pressure caps guarantee work piece protection. Adjustable work piece contact elements prevent direct contact between the work piece and the serrated steel rail under full utilization of the jaw face. The tilting K Body clamp adapter (available separately) KR-AS which is easily pushed on to the clamping jaws enables clamping requirements outside of the 90° range to be fulfilled. The tilting adapter adjusts to the work piece, regardless of whether fitted in a v-shape or at a slanted parallel. The additional module is infinitely tilt-able within a range of 30°. 12 " K Body REVO, 1,500 lb clamping force, 3 3/4" Throat depth, 3 removable jaw pads, 2 component ergonomic handle, removable material protector pads, removable end stop, can be attached to a work bench using Bessey TK-6 clamps. Set includes 2 pieces KR3.524 K Body REVO clamps, 2 pieces KR3.540 K Body REVO Clamps and 2 KBX20 extenders designed to join to Bessey K Body REVO or classic K Body clamps to increase opening capacity.

I have ordered multiple packages of these clamps, and every one of them has arrived damaged, regardless of who ships them. Bessey ships them in an open box with no support materials (the problem is worst on the 24" and larger versions of this clamp) and the heavy clamps crash around in the box and shatter plastic feet, head covers, etc. Amazon and others have been good about replacing the damaged ones, but at least one out of every package of four has been damaged in every shipment I've received, so if you are in a hurry for them because of a scheduling issue, buy them where you can pick them up in person to avoid the delays of exchange.

As for the clamps themselves, they are great performers. The only clamps I've used that surpase them are the Jorgensen brand of parallel clamp, which are a bit sturdier and the mechanism that allows the clamp to come apart to join two together into a longer clamp is a spring-loaded metal device that works much better than the fragile and cumbersome plastic stop on these clamps.

After a decade of watching Norm Abram make projects with Bessey K-body clamps, and wishing that I could justify their price, I decided to make the jump. This bundle of four clamps in the new Revo style is a great value. The clamps are well-made, easy to use, and remarkably strong.

Unfortunately the retainer clips/spacers that are installed at the factory at the end of the clamp bar are easily broken. Two of the four were broken when I opened the packaging; there was no external damage to the Bessey boxes or the overwrap box, so I believe this is a packaging problem at Bessey. I was able to glue these clips back together so that they work, but it wasn't a great solution. Also, the black plastic protective pads that sit on the clamp faces and the top of the clamp slide off easily, which makes for one more thing you need to keep under control during a glue-up. A small piece of double-stick tape on between each one and the clamp body solves that problem. These are the reasons why I'm rating the clamps with four stars instead of five; in all other ways, they're excellent.

I ordered 36 of these clamps in total. 12 40s, 12 20s and 12 12s.3 of the cases I recieved were in really bad shape. The box to the clamps is barely big enough for the clamps to fit and the amount of protective material used is a joke. It seems that only the 4 unit clamp kits suffer from this. The 12 inch clamps that I ordered came in double boxed and those clamps are in great shape. I blame both Bessey and Amazon for this issue. Bessey for thinking that they could package about 50lbs worth of clamps in such a mannger and Amazon for not double boxing these sets as they did with the 12 inch models. I do have to hand it to Amazon though, the return policy is like nothing I have ever seen. I filed for the returns and had a new boxes overnighted within an hour.I could have got these clamps at another vendor but decided to pay a little more for the added protection of Amazons return policy since I had read that there were so many packaging related damages.

Please dont let the poor shipping decisions factor into your buying decision. Expect for some damage and expect Amazon to go above and beyond to fix the issue. All in all I had to wait about 2 more days to get 36 clamps in good shape. I also forgot to mention that UPS beats the crap out of boxes and hope that Amazon is at least getting some money back from those guys.

As far as the clamps themselves, they are a joy to use and much better then the Jet versions I had before. I hated the extra latch to release tention and love that the new Besseys have larger clamping surfaces and can be extended with the included extenders. Who really uses the bench dog attachement of the Jets anyway?
