The choice of professionals worldwide, this fast action sliding arm bar clamp features a profiled rail and I-beam design that minimizes flexing and bending common with flat bar rails. A patented non-slip locking device and zinc-finished, drawn rail prevent marring and staining of the workpiece. An oversized, ergonomic wood handle offers maximum power and comfort. Galvanized metals eliminate stains and rust. Bessey's cold drawn profiled steel rail offers total control over the workpiece. This Tradesman Heavy Duty Bar Clamp has a 16" clamping capacity, 1" x 5/16" rail size, 4" throat depth, and nominal clamping pressure of 800 lbs. I have been using several sizes of bar clamps for many years.Bessey clamps are the strongest easiest to use of all the clamps I have tried. As a wood patternmaker the ability to retain tension without slipping is very important,Bessey clamps have never slipped.

I've always used the clutch style bar clamp and have about two dozen of various sizes of a bargain brand. They have always performed acceptable, but when I saw on Amazon some Bessey clutch style clamps at very reasonable prices, I thought I would try some. For just a little more money, the Bessey is twice the quality. So I needed some clamps with a little more reach and decided to give the tradesmen style a try. Very impressed, the adjustable arm stays where you put it, the bar stock is very "beefy". Quality at a reasonable price. No more bargain brand for me.
