I have been using several sizes of bar clamps for many years.Bessey clamps are the strongest easiest to use of all the clamps I have tried. As a wood patternmaker the ability to retain tension without slipping is very important,Bessey clamps have never slipped.

I've always used the clutch style bar clamp and have about two dozen of various sizes of a bargain brand. They have always performed acceptable, but when I saw on Amazon some Bessey clutch style clamps at very reasonable prices, I thought I would try some. For just a little more money, the Bessey is twice the quality. So I needed some clamps with a little more reach and decided to give the tradesmen style a try. Very impressed, the adjustable arm stays where you put it, the bar stock is very "beefy". Quality at a reasonable price. No more bargain brand for me.
