Ideal for sheet metal, stainless steel, light-duty work, and woodworking applications, these Bessey clamps are the choice of professionals worldwide. Tradesman bar clamps feature a unique locking device that is permanently molded into a malleable cast-iron sliding arm, eliminating slippage by interlocking with serrations on the rail. These clamps need no clutching action and have a large Acme thread for fast turning. The large-diameter pad surface comes with protective caps that will minimize dimpling of material while protecting the surface while the ergonomically designed wood handle gives you positive strong clamping.

This Tradesman Medium Duty Clamp has a 12" clamping capacity, 1" x 1/4" rail size, 2-1/2" throat depth, and nominal clamping pressure of 600 lbs. It is part of Besseys Tradesman line of bar clamps that features a patented nonslip locking system, greater holding power than any other clutch-style clamp, corrugated cast jaws, high quality galvanized profiled rail, coated oversized acme thread, large ergonomically shaped wood handle, and glue-resistant non-marring plastic caps.

I own several of these Bessey clamps in various lengths, and I think the world of them. I have never experienced the bar "bowing" like other clamp bars tend to do. With a reasonable pricetag, I think these are some of the better all-around clamps on the market.

This clamp is the perfect little tool to have around your house when you're building or mending small drawers or chairs. This is not a heavy duty piece, but you can manually tighten it to the point where it damages your object. Its important to remember that it doesnt have cushions and you need to use some kind of wooden or hard rubber spacer to protect the surface of your object.

This clamp is the kind of tool that once you have it you'll wonder why you didnt buy one sooner. I have them in several different lengths and would be lost without them.

The nice thing about the Bessey Tradesmen's, is that they are heavier duty than the competition, in the medium duty class, and you don't have to take out a second mortgage to afford a set of them. The locking mechanism works without any hassles, and the grip is strong. All in all a nice piece of equipment. A major competitor sells this model for less money, but it is also a lighter weight clamp. I like them all. Bessey makes great stuff, you can't go wrong with these. They are a great general purpose clamp. Highly recommended.
