Product Description

From the Manufacturer

A clever variation on the standard spring clamp, VarioClippix clamp handles hold fast at a constant setting for steadfast gluing bonds. An upper jaw is infinitely adjustable and opens as wide as 3 inches (100 mm), making the Clippix versatile enough to do the work of four different clamps. VarioClippix clamps function at any angle for optimal versatility. The moveable jaw and a spring clamp together let you quickly and easily modify clamping pressure from maximum force for feisty projects, to almost no force for delicate applications. Once the opening of the VarioClippix is adjusted, the clamp can be applied from any angle without the frustration of the upper jaw sliding down the rail. Handles are made of a two-component, soft, anti-slip material for comfort. Soft pads on the tips eliminate marring of workpiece for smoother, straighter clamping.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, not sure if a good value., April 2, 2007

This review is from: Bessey XV3-50 3-Inch VarioClippix Sliding Arm Plastic Spring Clamp (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have plenty of the standard 99 cent squeeze clamps. They do just as good a job as these do, within about 1/2" thickness. I purchased a few of these to try out the expanding jaw. It does work, but I'm not sure if it is a novelty or not. I haven't found many things that are thicker than a standard squeeze clamp will work on, which don't require more force than these clamps will provide. I fall back on the F-style 10" clamps that I purchased for $1.99 a piece at Harbor Freight.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works until it breaks, February 22, 2010
This review is from: Bessey XV3-50 3-Inch VarioClippix Sliding Arm Plastic Spring Clamp (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is a good variable grip clamp, you just slide the grip up the shaft for larger clamping. However, mine broke after a dozen or so uses, the handles should be reinforced with metal to handle the pressure of squeezing them to open the clamp. I can still use it but have to grip the handle up higher. I tried to glue the dangling part of the handle but it didn't stay. I will next reinfoce with a piece of metal and tape it inside the handle. If it hadn't broken I would have given it more stars.
