Billy Joel's Best Compilation Album Ever!, December 12, 2005

I know that there are quite a few other compilations of Billy Joel's that are out there but in truth, this one is the best. It's quite clear that after the wonderful "An Innocent Man", Billy just lost it and his albums started a dramatic decline in quality. Clearly his best work can all be found here and you don't really need to get Vol. 3. This Japanese mini-lp replica gatefold sleeve remastered version is also the best version of this cd that is out there. The sound has never sounded better and the track selections are excellent with the lyrics included as well for good measure. All my favourite BJ tunes are here such as "Allentown", "Honesty", "Just the Way You Are", "My Life", "Still Rock and Roll to Me".... and the list goes on. The only track that's not here that really should be is from "An Innocent Man" and is "Leave a Tender Moment Alone." If you want the truly best work of this guy, just get this album and "An Innocent Man" and you pretty much have the essential greatest works of Billy Joel.
