5.0 out of 5 stars Great work
This is some of 2Pac's best material. That alone gives it a perfect rating. But, I do agree with the other reviewer. The "Greatest Hits" album from 1998 would be a better investment.

2.0 out of 5 stars This and "Part 2: Life" are more for the hardcore Tupac fan
I won't go deep into detail on each song as almost all of them will be familiar to most Tupac fans. Even though Part 1: Thug and Part 2: Life are sold separately, they are meant to be part of one compilation, as evidenced by Afeni Shakur's little open letter inside.
If you're just getting into Tupac, and you're seeking a compilation, it's better to the "Greatest...

I won't go deep into detail on each song as almost all of them will be familiar to most Tupac fans. Even though Part 1: Thug and Part 2: Life are sold separately, they are meant to be part of one compilation, as evidenced by Afeni Shakur's little open letter inside.
If you're just getting into Tupac, and you're seeking a compilation, it's better to the "Greatest Hits" 2-CD compilation from 1998, as it's a good, solid overview of Tupac's work, having most of the tracks Tupac fans will need in a 2-CD set.
The problem with this new compilation (and Part 2: Life) is that they mostly offer songs already available on other Tupac CDs. There are some "unreleased" tracks offered, only two or so, and they're not worth the price of purchase. There are other officially unreleased tracks that should be here, such as "Life's So Hard."
So, unless you're a Tupac fan that has to have everything get the two, otherwise you can skip them.
(P.S., the "How You Want It" is like the one on "Greatest Hits," it censors out C. Delores Tucker's name)

3.0 out of 5 stars Again???, July 1, 2009
I love 2pac! however i cant see why they would release yet another greatest hits (with the same tracks!!!)(Except for 1 new one). I know that 2pac's music pool is running low, but at this point I would much rather they re-released post 2pac's death material in its original format. Meaning no added features or remixed beats, just so it can compete with todays industry, i feel that true 2pac fans need & want this.

5.0 out of 5 stars great cd, February 10, 2008
This review is from: Best Of 2Pac-Part 1:Thug (Audio CD)
i thought this was a good compilation of pacs classic tracks, i honestly think itl take like 10 cds to fit all of his best work possibly more, though i still recommened the older greatest hits compilation, but this one is still decent becuz of da bonus tracks and the digitaly remastered tracks, not recommended if you already have every tupac cd or the older greatest hits, but highly if your trying to get into him.

1.0 out of 5 stars another crime against 2pac, December 6, 2007
This review is from: Best Of 2Pac-Part 1:Thug (Audio CD)
2pac was a good rapper one of the best but he died young and everybody and their mama wanna cash in somehow on his death. anyway it's a shame all his enemies who he beefed with became larger and richer you know deep down puff, nas, lil kim, jay z, ll, and dre was laughing at pac saying yeah you deaD AND WE LIVING LARGE WE GOT OUR OWN LABELS WE GOT CLOTHEs, making more money thaN HE EVER DID. sometimes i think 2pac died for nothing and everybody benefitted and got paid off it we know puff benefitted more when big died but still it's messed up hearing his original recordings it's like what a loss he's on the level of hendrix, bob marley and even the underrated eddie hazel.
