Great sampling of his seventies music,
By
This review is from: Best of the 70's (Audio CD)
This doesn't quite live up to the title as it omits Home loving man and You lay so easy on my mind, both of which I would expect to find here. Nevertheless, this is a great collection of Andy's music of the seventies and those other tracks are quite easy to find if you need them.
Can't help falling in love, It's so easy, Where do I begin, Love theme from the Godfather and Solitaire were all big UK hits for Andy. The remainder of the collection is dominated by Andy's exquisite coves of Candida (Tony Orlando and Dawn), For once in my life (Stevie Wonder), Here comes that rainy day feeling (Gordon Lightfoot), Never can say goodbye (Gloria Gaynor), Rose Garden (Lynn Anderson), Spanish Harlem (Ben E King), If you could read my mind (Gordon Lightfoot), Wichita lineman (Glen Campbell), Fire and rain (James Taylor), Sweet Caroline (Neil Diamond), My Cherie amour (Stevie Wonder), Aquarius / Let the sunshine in (Fifth dimension), We've only just begun (Carpenters) and Close to you (Carpenters). We all have our own favorite songs so it would be possible to have included a different set of equally brilliant covers and still call it best of the seventies. As an overview of Andy's later music, this is brilliant despite the omission of Home loving man and You lay so easy on my mind.

This review is from: Best of the 70's (Audio CD)
In October 2003, I recieved this CD of "Andy Williams: Best of the 70s". Every song on that CD is excellent. Some of your favorite artist's #1 hits are on this CD. If I were you, I would buy it.
