This is a great book with a few different kinds of ab exercises I've never done before. What surprised me most was that not only did I get in a good abdominal workout, but I ended up being sore in a lot of other places too, like my lats, chest, arms, lower body, etc.

All the exercises are clearly explained with pictures, and there's info about creating your own ab workout for whatever your goals are, whether you want strength, endurance, to get leaner, and so on.

I definitely learned some things from this book and would recommend it.

A friend recommended this writer to me so I figured I would give him a try. This is the first book I've read by Mr. Barrett, but it won't be the last! I really enjoyed his overall perspective on exercise. The first chapter focused on why the best type of ab workout is one that works your CORE - which includes many other major muscle groups. I liked that because I was really sick of doing sit-ups and crunches to isolate the abs. Mr. Barrett provided so many other options that really DO help strengthen your overall core. And, he includes pictures of the exercises so you can make sure you are doing them correctly.

Also, the writer doesn't assume that every person reading this book is a hard-core athlete - he provides variations of the exercises. He explains that you can benefit from doing just a few of the many exercises each day. In other words, he is realistic that not every person who chooses this book reads it just because they want 6-pack abs. I wanted to learn some fun variations to the typical ab exercises - I did! I also got the benefit of learning exercises that strengthen my core AND help relieve my back pain!

This book was a quick and educational read! I liked the writing style of this author - he explained things well and made the information fun and interesting. I've already downloaded my next book from the author - Hand and Forearm Exercises - recommended by a friend because of all the work I do on the computer! This is a great exercise book for Ab exercises. It has a lot of great information on the proper way to exercise, stretch and helpful hints on diet and nutrition to aid in strengthening my core and getting a flat stomach. It is very well written and lots of pictures to show each exercise to make sure you are doing the moves correctly. It has suggestions on how to incorporate the moves into my workout. Most of all, I am happy to finally learn different and new techniques for my ab workout that are NOT crunches or sit ups. The new techniques the author identifies are awesome and fun! I look forward to reading other books by this author.

So, I've actually lost 90lbs over the last 10 mos and I've been feeling alot better. But the weight loss has left me without alot of tone or definition in my stomach area.

A friend of mine recommended this book and I thought - hey, why not... I've read a few other books written by Patrick and they've been quick and effective. The content available in this book has been the best I've read so far. The exercises are relatively easy to do and he gives plenty of options to target the abdominal region.

Personally, I was injured many years ago and have a hard time putting pressure on my wrist so I really appreciate having a couple of different ways to target my flabby abs without re-injuring myself. Patrick goes into very clear detail on how to execute each one of the exercises and then follows up with some very good recommendations for diet and overall health improvements.

I'd highly recommend picking this book up today, implement some of his suggestions and see improvements in just a few weeks. That's what I'm doing and, so far, I'm seeing results.

This ab book is the first I've read to really break it all down into quick digestible bites and get you going on getting core strength. I am mainly interested in getting my stomach leaner but was intrigued to learn there are so many more practical benefits to strengthening the core. There is good nutritional advice as well for those wanting to keep their tummy trim.

I enjoyed reading this and will keep it handy during my workouts for reference points. The pictures help a lot!

Well, I read a unfair bad review about another book from this author, and decided put my review about this book.
This is my second book by this author, and I think that I am able to perceive a method of work in his books:
- they are short
- they are “right to the point”
- they show really good progressions from one exercise to the next level
- the harder levels are really difficult. ( look for his book “One arm pull up” )

If you want a book that justify its title and don’t waste you time or money, you will get from this author. If you needs motivation, and like of colored pictures from tattooed shirtless men with criminal looking, or instruction about the old things that even child should know nowadays (myths about spot fat reduction, the problems of fast food, the bad rule of carbs in our diet), look for another books, all for them more expensive, more instructional about general matters, but more basic about the main subject of the title.
