This C D is a must for any and all ROMANTICS , Acker Bilk is without doubt among the very best when it comes to setting a Romantic " Sensual " mood .His prsentation of " Stranger on the shore " & " Feelings " are perhaps the VERY BEST ever recorded, for even without vocal support they are music of the GODS to any and all Lovers be they Young or OLD :

This copy, specifically purchased for 'Stranger on the Shore', has been recorded/copied TOO SLOW. Original tempo is just a bit faster and much more listenable/danceable.

When you are bleary eyed from the snow and weary of the bleak news and television stinks now that the bowls are over, turn on your stereo or ipod or whatever is your medium, and relax. Bilk is the most awesome, relaxing, romantic clarinet on planet Earth and maybe the universe. Melts snow, cold hearts, would probably make congress mellow. Love it!

I now own six Acker albums and I see the critics compare him to Fountain and Shaw, etc. Don't bother. Listen with your heart and soul and you will just love what Acker has produced. The clarinet just talks to you with all the feelings that he gives you. Even when he lends vocals to the various tracks I find it unique and enjoyable. That's the key....Just ENJOY!
