"A collection of covers, many fairly obscure, performed by Gabriel in fine form with orchestral arrangements. Some of the songs, most notably "Mirrorball" Elbow cover, "The Boy and the Bubble" (Paul Simon) and "Listening Wind" (Talking Heads) are remarkably reinterpreted."
"The salty/sweet sound of semi-hip hop combined with rock/ballad singer Chester Bennington (truly the Lou Gramm of his generation) has long been a formula for alt-rock radio. This particular album has a conceptual feel, with several standouts including "Waiting for the End" and "The Catalyst"."
""Over the top" is a good description of LaMontagne's vocal style, which sounds more derivative than genuine. I figure a few years from now, this guy will have a permanent gig in Vegas. Nevertheless, this album is very good and the songs "Repo Man" and "For the Summer" are standouts."
