Book Description

October 28, 2002
The critics agree (and so do these guys):

"A load of fun!"

"Moving. I couldn't leave my seat."

I laughed. I cried. I was profoundly disturbed."

Shit happens, sometimes at the worst possible place and time, and often with hilarious consequences. All the stories in this book are true -- from "The Velvet Bag" to "Cairo Carnage" -- although most of the authors wish they never happened. Alas, one man's traumatic memory is another man's amusing bathroom diversion. So, enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious - Hits a little close to home, November 22, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The Best American Shit Stories 2002 (Paperback)
I received a copy as a gift and did not know what to think. After reading a few stories, I found myself laughing out loud. Literally laughing out loud! My wife read it as well and had the same reaction. The stories are hilarious and you know that they are true as I don't believe anyone could be that creative. Frankly, a few of the stories hit a little bit too close to home. I highly recommend the book, it's a quick read and will most definately put a smile on your face!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Toilet is Hard to Find, December 6, 2005
This review is from: The Best American Shit Stories 2002 (Paperback)
This book was passed along to me as a cheap novelty item from a dear friend. Little did he know that it would eventually find a place on my bookshelf between Melville's, Moby Dick and Don DiLillo's, Underworld. A lyrical collection of scatological prose dealing with the topic of having to release one's bowels in the most unlikely places. I recommend to all who view the number 2 as than more a number.
