The songs on this recording are what I concider to be the cornerstone of Christian music as we know it today. With songs such as "Through it all", "Jesus is the answer", and "Take me back" to his credit, (which are all personal favs of mine), Andrae Crouch has established himself as the trend-setter for many gospel artists who have come along since. Without the songs Mr. Crouch put out on recordings such as this, gospel music WOULD NOT be where it is today, period!

As so many of us can say "I grew up on Andrae's Music!" Listening to this album takes me back to my teenage days. We just couldn't wait to hear what new music Andrae would come out with. His music has always been on the cutting edge, but has always stayed true to God's annointed word. Even today he still continues to listen to God and spread his message. Thankyou Andrae. If you don't have this recording, you're missing out. Get it & BE BLESSED!!!

When I was a kid, our youth choir was known as "The Disciples" and we modeled ourselves on Crouch & co. "Though It All" Jesus Is The Answer" and "Take Me Back" were all part of our repotoire.(Ironically, Crouch and crew were criticized as Kirk Fraklin is today for making their music "too modern." Even though I'm no longer with the church, I still love this music and it's sincere praise of God.

This is a nice reissue of the definitive AD&C 'Greatest Hits' album from 1975. Sound quality on this CD is very good, and every song is a hit. If you enjoy AD&C, or 70's Jesus music in general, you cannot go wrong with this one.

My only (admittedly) nit-picky criticism is with the packaging: it consists of an embarassingly low-quality image of the original album cover, with none of the original liner notes or pictures. This was likely a cost-cutting concession, and the low price of this CD helps makes it more 'attractive' in any case. Buy it!

This is a wonderful collection of Andre's best songs... Brought back tons of memories and was a joy singing along with the songs that broke the "Christian Music" mold in the 70's!..

this cd is great! when i was sick with anxiety, the soulful and inspirational sounds of andre and his choir helped me get better. i listened to it everyday and i still do. this is real music-gospel music, not kirk franklin type music and this new gospel entertainment music. it really uplifts you which gospel music is supposed to do. the songs "take me back" to my wonderful childhood when i was in choirs and my family was in choirs at our church. everyone who listens to my cd ends up purchasing it because that's how good it is. they say, where you get that cd from? it has real lyrics for personal real life stuff that will give you hope when all else fails. it reminds you of how good God is and will have you seeking Jesus and what he can do for you. get it! you won't regret it!

the words in andres songs will ring in your mind long after you turn off the music. The message is Gods love for you and all people. Great stuff !

This was the best CD ever. Although it's an oldie Andrae still has never lost his musical ability/voice even now at 69 years of age. The CD was also in very good condition.

The influence of Andrae Crouch on gospel music is of great significance. Many people don't even realise songs that they have sung or heard for so many years were authored by Mr. Crouch. Both Andrae Crouch and the Hawkins Family presented a new modern style that we enjoyed as children as did many others. Nonetheless, there were many traditionalists who did not, and had strong objections but clearly, they did not have the last word. He toured on Billy Graham Crusades and to this day I watch re-runs of a 1975 crusade in New Mexico where Mr. Crouch tells his story of how his father who was a weekend pastor in tiny, rural California churches asked him if it was God's will that he lead the church's music ministry would he do it. At eleven years old Andrae says he looked up at his father bewildered but said `Yes Daddy'. Little did they know his music ministry would spread far beyond the little church in rural California, he would take that music ministry all over the world.

This selection really seems to comprise the best: Take Me Back, I Don't Know Why, Through It All, Jesus Is the Answer... the chants in opening lines of this song featuring live material: `There's Power in the Name of' ... crowd response - `Jesus' ...to this day gives me goosebumps; the power is real. The lyrics are all very simple but effective. Get this if you don't have it. This is the foundation modern gospel and Christian contemporary music.

Forty years and more later...
The traditionalists don't like or understand the modern style of gospel music with the influence of rap/hip-hop or other newer music forms `sounds like just noise to me..why don't they place some nice music like Andrae Crouch'.

God in His Heaven looks down and says `These children of men they are so funny..but I just love them.'

Andre Crouch has the most outstanding Christian music "on the planet"! & this particular CD is his "best"!! Take it from me...I have followed him since the 70's - this CD brings tears to my eyes.... and will move your spirit, too!! Don't miss this one....it's a "keeper"!! ( and his sister also accompanies him also!!) PS: I bought one...then decided to purchase another one - in case the first one got lost or...whatever!! ENJOY...you won't be sorry -Guaranteed!!
