This set represents 20 years of music recorded by a Jazz legend on Atlantic Records. Mann passed away last year, so this collection of CDs represents one-third of his musical legacy.

This compilation of Herbie Mann albums is large. It requires many hours of time to listen to this collection. The liner notes are also extensive and worth reading to gain insight into the Mann and his music at Atlantic. This boxed set also features a galaxy of top flight musicians, composers, arrangers, producers and engineers that Mann worked with and showcased during his Atlantic years.

A must for all jazz musicians to own.
