The Bachelor Season 17

Editorial Reviews

Exclusive home video edition of Season One of the hit reality series about an exciting quest for love - with over 30 minutes of scintillating never-before-seen footage. Management consultant Alex Michel is the single man who enters a dating minefield of dinners, horseback rides and romantic getaways in which the locales (Las Vegas, Santa Barbara, Manhattan, and Hawaii's Kona) are exotic, the hopes are high and competition among the 25 ladies sometimes borders on the low-down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Voyeuristic reality TV at its sexiest September 22, 2002
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
One complaint that I had with "Best Of Survivor Season One" was that it was a truncated, piece-meal version of the original series that cut out some of the most memorable scenes of the show, like Sue's infamous 'snake-eat-rat' tribal council speech. "Best of The Bachelor" showcases the series in its entirety as it was broadcasted (though somewhat edited for time) and features some never-before-seen bonus interview footage at the end of the tape. Even if you have never seen the show, the video will take you right from the tumultuous beginning all the way up to the climactic ending, no pun intended :) For fans of the show and other reality date-o-holics, this video is sure to please your palate.

5.0 out of 5 stars A definite for ABC's "The Bachelor" addicts March 1, 2006
Format:DVD
The season that started it all!! The season that brought us the exquisite Trista Rehn!!! This DVD has got it all including extra features showing extended interviews, dates and commentary. Each show is edited into a tidy 20 minutes (approx.) so you get the richness of the show without the tiresome, heart-pounding pauses.

What I can't understand is why the other seasons haven't been released in this format, especially Trista's Bachelorette season! Her wedding was viewed by millions and to date, her relationship constructed on the show is the only one that has resulted in such a union.

Chant with me everyone:

"WE WANT MORE!! WE WANT MORE!! WE WANT MORE!!"

I liked the best of the Bachelor but I don't want just the first bachelor on DVD I want all the Bachelor seasons on DVD and all the Bachelorette seasons also and until Mike Fliess does that he won't see five stars from me! Other than that, I liked it!

4.0 out of 5 stars See What You Didn't See August 21, 2005
Format:DVD
This is a very well presented DVD. What you get are mini-versions of the episodes from Season 1 of the reality show THE BACHELOR.

Added bonuses included previously unseen material This is good stuff. What you get to see are the things you want to see. More of the romance, more of the drama, more of the potential sex, more of the fun. There's also more of Amanda- a definite good thing in my book. If you're a fan of the show I recommend this DVD, and if you're not, you may find yourself fascinated by the exploits and becoming a fan yourself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bachelor/Bachelorette Fan May 18, 2005
Format:DVD
"The Best of the Bachelor" was really good although it is Season One ONLY!! Where is the rest of the series? I would purchase Aaron, Andrew & Bryon's season on DVD (with outtakes). Also, where is the Bachelorette? My ALL TIME favorite is Trista & Ryan with Meredith & Ian coming in second. Mike Fleiss, are you listening??

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the Bachelor April 17, 2013
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
You'll probably find this unusual for a man to be commenting on a TV series, such as the Bachelor, but I actually got hooked when watching later televised episodes of the Bachelor and the Bachelorette with my wife! I purchased the "Best of the Bachelor" for a couple reasons: The price was right and I was curious to see how this episode would play out? I guess I was amazed to see how and what all these beautiful women would do in order to get a red rose and continue through the next round! I didn't always agree with the selection process regarding who was sent home, but it was still entertaining. I understand that several of the last rose couples did not take the final step and get married. I guess the romance wore off after the TV cameras were turned off.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Knee Slapper May 25, 2009
By S. Fife
Format:DVD
I enjoyed the DVD of "The Bachelor, Season 1," it was a complete hoot, and my daughter and I both thought it was a comedic delight. What a send-up of American dating rituals! Thanks for that. And the DVD was in fine condition too, because God knows we wouldn't have wanted to miss a moment of the comedy, which many times bordered on farce. A brilliant satire on the American habit of putting a price tag on everything, including moonlight!

It was really good when I saw it in America five years ago so I am sure the DVD will be good too.
