Famously, the band held auditions for a guitarist during which they rejected Slash, who would go on to stardom with Guns N' Roses. The guitarist they chose, C. C. DeVille, won the gig thanks to his performance of "Talk… Read more in Amazon's Poison Store

4.0 out of 5 stars A Lot Better Than I Thought, May 12, 2004

I thought this would be a lame collection of lame songs. But when I put it in, I was actually very suprised. It is pretty much all their ballads (I love their ballads), and some hard-rocking blues tracks. One track doesn't really fit(Good Love), but it is a powerfully cool song, so I was happy to have it. For a true collection of Poison, get Greatest Hits, but this is also extremely good.

3.0 out of 5 stars Greatest hits 2, April 3, 2006
This review is from: Best of Ballads & Blues (Audio CD)
Poison rocks.
This cd is the greatest hits 2, featuring tracks from every album except for the most recent 'Hollyweird' which is great however it had some of the same songs as the first greatest hits cd.
I believe it should've focused even more on the best tracks from the albums that came out after the first greatest hits : 'Crack a smile', 'Power to the people' and 'Hollyweird' and also the best hits from 'Native tongue' as there was only one song from that album on the first greatest hits. A combination of this album and the 'Rock champions' compilation would have been perfect.
