I haven't been able to stop reading this book since I started. Barbara's heartfelt and honest response to her own struggles made me realize that I am not alone. Not many people can be so open about their own feelings, especially when they are not "politically correct"! Go Barbara! I have thoroughly enjoyed this book and have recommended it to many friends.

It is inspiring to see how she deals with the tough times in her life. It is very encouraging to those who have gone through similar events. She is amazing! You will laugh and then cry and then laugh all over again.

I love her books there funny, she understand everyday life and there problems and tries to help us apply the word and make things go a little easier. Times are tuff and raising children even harder and examples from others helps you put things in to prospective. You can't put this book down once you start. Buy it it great!

Realistic and practical advice.Christ-centered, without being "preaching". Humorous,without minimizing the real depth of emotional pain.As Barbara tells her own personal story it is clear that she has earned her credentials and that her advice for healing the heart comes from her own painful experiences. That Barbara is able to address subjects like stress, depression,and heartbreak,and leave your heart SINGING is a testiment to her special gift.

Barbara's books have given me a whole new perspective on my daily outlook on life. Interspersed and backed by scripture, much wisdom is given in dealing with devastating events that can occur in our daily lives! She will help you walk through the valleys and rise to the mountaintops!

I've been trying to get an address for Barbara Johnson. I have a friend who's son was murdered and I think she could use some kind of lift. Barbara has such a way of lifting people up.

This book was given to me by my Pastor's wife, when I completed my nervous breakdown after my oldest son (then just 19) announced that he was a homosexual. I had nerve problems already, it's just that it was more than I could handle. He had held positions in our church, was a soloist, etc. Anyway, she gave me the book, and I read it at least twice. Then I passed it on to another "basket case". I recommend you buy more than 1 copy, because the last time I saw the very 1st book, it was dog-earred and ragged. You see, we (the ladies of our church and community) read it and pass it on. I was really glad to find some of these books "gently used", so that I can afford to add some more copies and titles to our "library". In fact you can hardly tell that this last one I bought was read, I'm sure it was. I recommend it for anyone who wants to be entertained. It's not all "Preaching". She shares what she has been through so you know that you're not alone. And she is one of the best comediennes I have ever heard.

I was at Anaheim to attend an exhibition in June 1995.And I also visited a bookstore in front of Disneyland. The nice lady introduced me to Barbara and I just fell in love with "Pack up the gloomies....". From that moment I kept on searching her books. I got other books in Singapore. But, I just couldn't find it in Indonesia. I wish I can translate her books into Indonesian. Just for Barbara,"If you're interesting to have your books in Indonesian, and help more mothers here, I am ready to go for it."

A must read for any one struggling with life! Up lifting and inspiring. A book that gives hope and courage and lots and lots and lots of laughs!
