5.0 out of 5 stars Soothing and Haunting
If your idea of relaxation includes visions of night, of moonrise, of brooks, this is for you. If walking in the country, and smelling the crisp breeze, the hint of woodsmoke in the air is inviting, this CD is for you. If sipping apple cider next to a fireplace, listening to the snow fall outside, buy this CD now, and enlighten your relaxation

1.0 out of 5 stars Disgusting abuse of a sacred instrument
Considering that this group of "musicians" has a lot of recordings, I bought this album with the assumption that it must be good. I can't even begin to tell you how wrong that was! PLEASE LISTEN to the tracks before buying!

As a player of the Native flute, I find peace and beauty in the instrument. A single note can strike a indescribable feeling in your...

5.0 out of 5 stars Speaks to the Soul, May 20, 2001
I own all of Coyote Oldmans' music and they are all beautiful. I bought my first piece, "Landscape" back in the 80s. I actually wore that one out and bought it twice. This music definitely has a soulful quality and is very moving. I dont see how any person of serious spirituality would not like these native american flavored pieces. His music seems to tell melodic stories and is very relaxing to listen to, and yes it is good meditation/contemplation music too. I spoke with this artist a couple of times when ordering his music and he is a generous and gracious soul. I might also add, he makes beautiful flutes. I also own one of those :)

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my very favorite CD's, December 5, 1999
By
I own a good number of new age and classical American Indian traditional flute music. This remains one of my very favorite CD's. It is relaxing, rejuvenating, just fantastic to listen to. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Wonderful!, August 13, 1998
By
I have been listening to both "New Age" and traditional American Indian music for many years. The Best of Coyote Oldman is a wonderful mix of traditional American Indian, Pan, and other flutes with ambient and synthesized music. The blend is potent and hypnotic. I highly recommend it both for meditation or relaxation.

5.0 out of 5 stars A contemplation of nature, April 25, 2000
By A Customer
The fist time that i've listen to Coyote Old Man music i felt my mind going at peace and making one with nature. I've heard a lot of new age and ambiance music, but for an ultimate experience of calm and relaxation that's the one i choose in an instant.

If you are looking for soothing relaxing music this CD is for you. There are no vocals and no drumming that will make you want to get up and move.

I played this at work and people literally stopped and said it was beautiful. I was so happy I bought this..it was almost impossible to find in "regular" record stores.

Coyote Oldman should now be recognized by all for the wonderful, peaceful music which they give to us. This anthology is remarkable for sounding not like a rehash of the past, but as another step or sequence in the sacred circle of a musical journey at once intimate and universal.
