This CD Won't be a letdown,
By A Customer
This review is from: Best of Big Mountain (Audio CD)
Although I have not heard "Lean on Me" on any of their previous CD's, I can tell you this CD Will not be a letdown. I own their previous 4 releases, Unity, Wake Up, Free Up, and Resistance. Their music has not yet disappointed me. They have a cool blend of swingin' reggae style, and the vocal stylings of Quino (the lead singer) are excellent. Buy it! Improve your outlook on life! I know they are some of the best music you can listen to when you're depressed.

One of a few of this genre I purchased to play as background music for an "Island Style" wine and cheese party at my home. This is the CD guests wanted the name of to buy for themselves. Have to admit, it's become one of my favorites and is played often.

Upful & Right,

Wow! I am still blown away by this album. I have been a big fan since WAKE UP first hit the CD racks, but this "best of" compilation is easily greater than the sum of it's parts. This is my third time to purchase this album. It seems to be the the first one to "disappear" from my collection during spring break. If you are not familiar with Big Mountain, this is a great stepping stone. There are several reggae-ized cover songs like Peter Frampton's "Baby, I Love Your Way" that should sound cheesey, but actually never sounded better. You'd think this was the original version, not a remake. The original tunes are pure and solid. Big Mountain is a strange and wonderful blend of raw reggae & uplifting melodies. The music is honest and positive, but true to it's roots. No fluff here, just a great outlook on life.
