I already have about half these tracks on other cd's. But the way they are grouped in this "folk" collection, the tunes fit together very well. I am more partial to his acoustic music, so future collections may not be so appealing, but this one is great. Plus it's 65 minutes long.

I'm a new listener to Bill Frisell, after I heard his music on a movie soundtrack. After a little research I bought this album and I'm happy I did. What a talented guitarist, playing all styles of music. This cd is a wonderful collection of different types of songs. My favorites are I''m So Lonesome I Could Cry, Sugar Baby, Mr. Memory and Have a Little Faith In Me. But I have to say each selection is great, which seldom happens. Usually there is one or two I don't like. Nice relaxing music, my favorites are the country bluegrass songs.

Bill Frisell is a master of many styles and a superb musician. And I would give his newest album (Disfarmer) more than 5 stars.

I really like this CD. I have almost eveything that Bill has put out but this one is very accessible and I find that I play it often. I play guitar professioinally and I just love the compositions. The compositions are less dense that many of his other releases but I like the space. This is definite recommendation to all Bill Frisell fans and to people who enjoy great guitar playing.

What better label to compile these cuts on than Nonesuch? The alpha waves of my cranial noodle are soothed by the ethereal ambience inherent in his signature style of playing. Around ten years ago, Bill left his guitar with me briefly for safe keeping at the coffee and smoke shop I ran in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It was safe from everyone save me; I played it for nearly an hour. I currently own a number of recordings he plays on, and I plan to acquire this one also.
