great album!!, April 5, 2002
This review is from: Best Of Black Sabbath (Audio CD)
After many versions of sabbath's "best of" this one is very different with almost all the songs from the Iommi-Martin-Powell era, and with 2 tracks from the cross purposes album (virtual death & evil eye) featuring geezer Butler on bass,i think this is a great album with songs like "headless cross", "when death calls" & "kiss of death", but other great songs should be on this album like "feels good to me" and like "black moon".

good but could have been better, March 29, 2004
This review is from: Best Of Black Sabbath (Audio CD)
first off let me tell all you ozzy/dio fanatics that this sabbath release may not be for you for this greatist hits cd covers only the tony martin era of sabbath.martin imo is the best sabbath vocalist ever ,even though i loved them all except glenn hughes.this is a fairly decent greatist hits compilation of martins years with sabbath, but it puzzles me why there ain't any material from the eternal idol album which is the best martin sabbath album after headless cross.surely tracks from the eternal idol cd such as the shining, glory ride or born to lose should have been included on this disc.anno mundi, jerusalem and i witness are other tracks that should have been included here.why they put a track like the battle of tyr on a greatist hits cd is beyond me.still though some of martins best sabbath tunes are included on this disc such as headless cross, the sabbath stones, when death calls and evil eye.overall this is a pretty good introduction cd for anyone unfamiliar with tony martin sabbath.i recommend it to everyone.

This isn't what you're looking for, July 6, 2006
This review is from: Best Of Black Sabbath (Audio CD)
This album only features material with vocalist Tony Martin. You probably want the 32-song "Best of" with 29 songs by Ozzy, two by Dio, and one by Ian Gillan. But if you're looking for Tony Martin - not that there's anything wrong with that - this is your album.
